A leading provider of weight management products and services needed to distribute several distinct pieces of digital signage content, as well as HDTV, throughout its Call Center – a facility that houses its Sales, Customer Counseling and Customer Service teams. In addition to locations within the Call Center, the customer wanted to distribute content to break out rooms, the cafeteria, management offices and the reception area.

The three main functions of the Call Center are to answer questions on available programs and pricing; assist current customers with questions related to programs, orders and deliveries that they have purchased; and assist customers with counseling and professional advice on programs that customers have completed.

To provide specific and focused digital signage across these three departments, three distinct AMX® Inspired Signage Players were used. They were switched using a cascaded system of three AMX Endeleo UDM-1604 Multi-Format Distribution Hubs to 34 displays, with 10 additional displays spread throughout the other offices and break-out areas in the building, for a total of 44 displays.

To provide live TV to management offices, as well as the reception and break out areas, the customer chose an HD DirecTV Satellite Set Top Box.

The digital signage content was developed specifically to strengthen brand awareness with Call Center staff; promote the latest offers and programs; and display meaningful data related to call volume, on-hold calls, individual and group actual versus target data, as well as customer satisfaction data. This information was presented on 34 large-format LCD displays strategically positioned so that every member of the staff could see at least one screen.

Like many corporate customers, this customer also wanted to be able to use the live TV feed as an employee communication tool in the event of emergency breaking news, or local adverse weather conditions. As a result, they required that all 34 displays also be able to show satellite TV content.

Control over which channel would be shown was provided to the receptionist and key management staff.

This design was recently replicated at an International Sales Call Center located in the European headquarters of a golfing equipment and accessories manufacturer. Ultimately, any service provider – such as a telecommunications provider or cable company – or organization that provides customer service and uses visual systems to communicate data-driven messaging could benefit from a combined AMX Endeleo and Inspired Signage solution.
