Consultant Outreach Efforts Create Positive Results for AMX
By Charles Duncan, AMX Consultant Liaison
More and more projects, especially larger, commercial applications, are designed and managed by consultants who are valuable partners for manufacturers and dealers alike. While consultants do not fulfill the roles of purchasing, installing or programming control products, they are pivotal advisers to the end user on selecting the best people to perform these tasks and ensuring that the project is completed on time and on budget.
Why consultants are important to the industry?
Consultants can range from individuals working out of a home office to a team of engineers in a large design firm. Ultimately, they all do the same thing - design and manage the project to ensure that the finished product meets or exceeds their needs at the most competitive cost. This supports industry growth and spurs competition.
Meet the AMX Consultant Alliance Group
The AMX Consultant Alliance Group was created to give consultants the resources they need to make the right product decisions when designing a system. On any given week, seasoned AMX professionals Charles Duncan, Mike Louthan, Michael Carter and an International consultant support team can be found traveling the U.S. and 83 countries. They visit consultants to demonstrate the latest AMX products, answer questions about hardware, software and support, and provide assistance on quoting projects.
Need a Quote? Let the AMX Master Quoting Service Go To Work For You
During the earliest stages of project design, consultants are encouraged to utilize the free AMX Master Quoting Service (MQS) via email (quotes@amx.com) or phone (1-800.65.AMX.65). If you know exactly what AMX products you need pricing for, you will receive a direct quote and a Master Quote number for future reference.
Should you only have a general idea of what is needed, the AMX MQS team can easily put together a quote, which includes product suggestions, pricing, and if requested, a recommendation of possible dealers for the bid process. Dealers will be recommended based on their experience level and past relationship with AMX.
With all other criteria being equal and in the best interests of the job, AMX Certified Expert (ACE) programmers will be recommended over non-certified dealers. This is an important consideration for dealers considering becoming ACE certified.
Once the consultant has finalized project needs, they will select a preferred list of dealers to bid on the job. AMX will only discuss project information with those dealers. When submitting bids, dealers should note that consultants will be provided product pricing that includes both the dealer cost and MSRP. Once bidding closes, a dealer will be awarded the job and work directly with AMX for product ordering.
100% More Consultant Inquiries and Growing!
Since the creation of the Consultant Alliance Group, AMX consultant inquiries have grown by over 100%. Consultants are finding that having a dedicated team on call makes their job of specing a project that much easier.
Get to Know a Consultant and Generate More Jobs and Revenue
The best way for dealers to grow their businesses is to make sure they are on the "A lists" of several consultants in their area. Most consultants prefer to work with dealers they know, trust and with whom they have a solid working relationship. Dealers are encouraged to network with consultants in their area to establish working relationships.
Now more than ever, consultants are a vital link in the industry supply chain because they fuel healthy competition among manufacturers and dealers, which is shifting the way business is done and ultimately creating better products and pricing for all.
