Spotlight On
Device Discovery Partners

AMX Device Discovery is making it simpler and faster than ever to program systems and allow devices to be controlled almost immediately upon plug-in.

This series salutes our partner manufacturers who are taking the initiative to write their own modules and making their products Device Discovery-enabled that much sooner. Each spotlight gives our dealers, integrators and programmers details on what these products do, why they’re hot and why they are a great choice for future installations.

This month we invite you to learn more about Key Digital's comprehensive support of Device Discovery.

Vision to Imagine. Vision to Innovate.

Key Digital specializes in high quality, cutting-edge video imaging technology solutions that support Device Discovery for seamless integration in a variety of applications. Their product lines include:

  • Video Processors
  • Video / Audio Switchers
  • Video / Audio Distribution Amplifiers
  • Video and Control Adapter
  • High-Quality Cables
  • Interface Adapters

Engineers at Key Digital worked closely with AMX in order to add the necessary AMX beacon to their product firmware. The beacon is an identifier which allows AMX to recognize the exact Key Digital product model as soon as it connected to the control system.

Once the model is identified, the AMX system will automatically download the correct module for instructions to control the specific product.  This process happens with almost no effort on behalf of the system integrator and ensures correct and seamless system implementation.

“Having everything right there in the palm of your hand without any additional tasks is revolutionary. The joint efforts of AMX and Key Digital allow simplicity with every install from start to finish by taking over the process of communication between Key Digital and AMX products," says Michael Lakhter, Key Digital’s VP of Sales.

To demonstrate residential and commercial applications for Key Digital and AMX , Key Digital put together the following system design examples:

Key Digital is ready to support system integrators and one of the many services that the company offers is its own in-house System Design Group, which can assist customers through all phases of the installation. The SDG is a team of highly trained engineers and CEDIA certified instructors who will assist in simplifying the most complex and entry level project design.

Once the SDG has received all of the necessary information, (i.e. number of sources, displays, etc.) their team will map out the best possible solution to fulfill the needs of the customer and return a professionally designed layout within 24 hours. The SDG welcomes questions and assistance and can be contacted at SDG@keydigital.com.
