What is RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication, or sometimes known as Rich Site Summary) is a format that allows users to subscribe to websites through feeds located on the sites. AMX offers RSS feeds for frequently changing content, including press releases, technical documentation, applications, firmware, and Tech Notes, to name a few.
Why RSS?
- Stay up-to-date. RSS automatically notifies you when website content changes - keeping you up-to-date on news, information, and releases.
- Save time. Receive information and releases directly instead of checking the site for updates.
- Less reliance on e-mail. RSS gets you information faster than e-mail subscriptions.
How Do I Use RSS?
You will need to download a free or low-cost feed reader or news aggregator application to view RSS feeds. Some popular feed readers include:
- FeedReader (www.feedreader.com)
- NewsGator (www.newsgator.com)
- Wizz RSS (www.wizzrss.com/)
Once you've installed your feed reader, look on www.amx.com for icons throughout the site. This icon lets you know a feed is available. Right-click on the icon to get the feed URL to enter into your feed reader.
