<version>2.0.15</version>

  <target>_self</target>
  <fileInfo>ZIP | 12.9 MB</fileInfo>
  <fileDetails>

New firmware for the KNX Gateway significantly expands its capabilities. The KNX Gateway can now connect an AMX control system to virtually any device with a KNX port.

It is a native NetLinx device which simplifies programming and diagnostics because it uses the standard NetLinx commands, channels and levels.

Replacement for other popular gateways between KNX and AMX - It allows integrators to add the KNX Communications Gateway into existing installations without writing new code.

Note: NXB-KNX must have first been transitioned to a native NetLinx device using the individual firmware (v1.0.36) and application (v2.0.15) upgrade jar files. Upon reboot the device will become a native NetLinx device and can henceforth be upgraded via the KIT file.

New Features:

Release version 2.0 adds well-rounded support for KNX Data Point Types (DPTs), handling data lengths of 1-bit, 2-bit, 4-bit, 1-Byte, 2-Byte, 3-Byte, 4-Byte, and 14-Byte data.

NXB-KNX Limited Release version 1.0 firmware, software, and documentation, is no longer supported with this version 2.0 release. This is due to its limited support for KNX LightSystem devices only.

Bug fixed in the AXLink communications in which if there were multiple keypads on the bus trying to communicate to a master at the same time, both keypads would become locked and require a power cycle to recover.

  <version>1.20.4</version>

  <target>_self</target>
  <fileInfo>ISO | 15.0 MB</fileInfo>
<fileDetails> Note: See below readme file for instructions on how to create a firmware upgrade CD from the ISO file.
Prerequisites: Requires a MAX-HT or MMS server with software version at least 4.34.33 with applied hotfix of 4.34.37-1 for networked operation.
New Features:

Fixed issue where MAX-AVP would periodically drop offline or hang and improved system stability

System now detects and handles any missing CD album or track data when encountered and operates as expected

MAX-AVP is now compatible with display devices with HDMI 1.3

Added a watchdog to monitor critical subsystems to detect and recover from faults

Added network monitor feature to automatically reboot if the MAX-AVP loses communication with the server for over 5 minutes. If MAX-AVP is used without a server then the user must change the "Network Mode:" setting to "Standalone" under the Setup/Settings page of the MAX-AVP. Otherwise the AVP will reboot every 5 minutes. This feature is on by default after upgrading to v1.20.4.

NOTES:

For the proper operation of all devices, it is recommended that all devices be brought up to the most current firmware version.

IMPORTANT: All end devices will need to be commissioned/attached to the gateways again after updating the gateway to firmware version 3.01.11.

Loading procedures for v3.01.11:

When upgrading from any version less than v3.00.00:

Upgrade to v3.00.00 first (example:  v1.01.20 -> v3.00.00)

The upgrade from v3.00.00 to v3.01.11 will require two loads of the file SW5791_01A_NXR_ZGW_v3_01_11.kit. The first load will fail after the third file is transferred with the NetLinx error message "Transfer Aborted - Unsupported file type." After getting this error message, reboot the gateway and verify that the NetLinx OnLine Tree shows v3.01.11 for the version on the gateway. Transfer file SW5791_01A_NXR_ZGW_v3_01_11.kit to the gateway a second time with the "Reboot Device" box checked in NetLinx. This time the entire kit file will transfer. After the gateway reboots, it will download the firmware to the radio. This will take approximately two minutes.

Load SW5795_92_ZIGBEE_END_DEVICE_v3_01_05.kit -- a gateway reboot IS NOT necessary after sending this file.

Load SW5791_07_ZIGBEE_REPEATER_v3_01_05.kit -- a gateway reboot IS NOT necessary after sending this file.

When upgrading from v3.01.07:

Transfer the file SW5791_01A_NXR_ZGW_v3_01_11.kit to the gateway via NetLinx with the "Reboot Device" box checked in NetLinx

It is not necessary to reload SW5795_92_ZIGBEE_END_DEVICE_v3_01_05.kit or SW5791_07_ZIGBEE_REPEATER_v3_01_05.kit since these files have not changed
	    in this release.

Prerequisites:

NXR-ZGW firmware v3.00.00

Zigbee Coordinator firmware v3.00.00

NXR-ZRP firmware v3.00.00

R4 ZigBee module firmware v3.00.00

CHANGES in this Release:

Resolved issue with gateway crashing when changing parameters on the Personal Area Network(PAN) webpage

Changed power settings for Europe and Japan for old gateways

Changed power settings for Europe and Japan for repeaters

Known Issues:

On systems that have one gateway and no repeaters, the remotes can become inoperable under extreme amounts of traffic (for example, 30 messages every two seconds to each of six remotes). Rebooting these devices will bring them back online.

Setting the gateway device number to 0 can cause it to not be correctly recognized by the master on master firmware releases less than v3.50.430.

The gateway does not currently support NDP mode for master connections.

In high traffic situations remotes can appear on the gateway commissioning page, even though they are commissioned. This has no impact on the actual operation of the remotes.

In some cases, the R3 power source will show as "Unknown" on the gateway web pages when the R3 is in its cradle. This issue does not impact the functionality of the remote or the gateway.

NEW LOADING PROCEDURE for v3.01.07:

This upgrade will require two loads of the file SW5791_01A_NXR_ZGW_v3_01_07.kit. The first load will fail after the third file is transferred with the NetLinx error message "Transfer Aborted- Unsupported file type." After getting this error message, reboot the gateway and verify that the NetLinx OnLine Tree shows v3.01.07 for the version on the gateway. Transfer file SW5791_01A_NXR_ZGW_v3_01_07.kit to the gateway a second time with the "Reboot Device" box checked in NetLinx. This time the entire kit file will transfer. After the gateway reboots, it will download the firmware to the radio. This will take approximately two minutes.

New Features:

The radio builds have been broken out of the gateway kit file. Each radio has a separate kit file that must be loaded onto the gateway - SW5795_92_ZIGBEE_END_DEVICE_vX_XX_XX.kit and SW5791_07_ZIGBEE_REPEATER_vX_XX_XX.kit. This was done so that changes made to any one of the radio builds may be loaded onto the gateway without rebuilding the gateway kit file. The file SW5795_92_ZIGBEE_END_DEVICE_vX_XX_XX.kit contains the radio firmware for over the air upgrades for the R3 and R4. The file SW5791_07_ZIGBEE_REPEATER_vX_XX_XX.kit contains the radio firmware for over the air upgrades for the NXR-ZRP-PRO Repeater.

  <version>2.63.4</version>

  <target>_self</target>
  <fileInfo></fileInfo>
  <fileDetails>

New Features:

Added support for Smart Sympodium ID350, Eizo Flexscan 17", Wacom DTF-521, and DTF-720

Until recently, most monitor makers did not worry about compliance with VESA standards. In the last couple of years they have started to implement the VESA standards and the NXP-TPI/4 needs an update to match those standards.

Installing the VESA compliant firmware without a chip change or hardware modification results in a TPI/4 that will not work properly. To prevent these problems, starting with firmware version 2.63.4 we will not post the latest version of firmware on the website (until further notice). In order to do a field update of the NXP-TPI/4 you will need to contact Technical Support to obtain the firmware KIT file.

If your unit has firmware of 2.60.75 or higher, it has the necessary modifications, and can accept the new firmware with no issues. If it has a lower version of firmware, the assumption is the modifications must be done, and the unit will need to be sent in for our repair department to make the changes. This will be done under standard AMX warranty policy.

For more information please see Tech Note TN643 or contact AMX Technical Support to obtain an RMA to implement the changes.

NOTE:

When upgrading from any version less than v3.00.00, an upgrade to v3.00.00 must be performed first. Load the SW0148_01B_MIOR4_ZIGBEE_MODULE_v3_00_00.kit file first. If SW0148_01A_MIOR4_v3_00_00.kit is accidentally loaded first, the radio will be unable to communicate with the host processor and cannot be upgraded. In this case, the host processor will have to be downgraded to an older version of the firmware and then upgraded again with the radio being upgraded first. Once the remote is upgraded to v3.00.00, the v3.01.05 firmware may be loaded in any order.

For the proper operation of all devices, it is recommended that all devices be brought up to the most current firmware version.

New Features:

Support has been added for the NetLinx command DEVICE_WAKE. This command requests that a device in standby state wake up. If the device is in standby state, it will transition to awake, generating an asynchronous AWAKE DATA_EVENT. Due to the nature of the STANDBY state, the R4 in STANDBY syncs with the gateway at approximately 50 second intervals. The request to wake will not be processed until one of these sync events, so the AWAKE state will appear delayed.

Telnet interface through the USB port. Open a telnet session, IP address 10.0.0.2, TCP port 23, and type "help" for a list of available commands. This interface may be used to configure the R4 for use in a network using a pre-configured key.

          To set the preconfigured key:

Start a telnet session with the R4 through the USB port.

Use the command "set zigbee extended PAN ID [preconfigured key]"
Where: extended PAN ID = Network desired to join (AZGxxxxx)
[preconfigured key] = user supplied key
(xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx)
Example: set zigbee AZG12345 11:22:33:44:55:66:77:88:99:11:22:33:44:55:66:77

Reboot R4.

CHANGES in this Release:

Resolved bugs with connectivity (R4/R3s falling offline and never coming back online)

Added support for the "DEVICE_WAKE" NetLinx command

Resolved R4 sleep bugs

Resolved bugs with hard keys becoming disabled after using set up pages

Added support for the Get Time function

Known Issues:

On systems that have one gateway and no repeaters, the gateway or remotes can become inoperable under extreme amounts of traffic (for example, 30 messages every two seconds to each of six remotes). Rebooting these devices will bring them back online.

The "show mem" command is not functional on the telnet interface to the R4.

When two R4 remotes are connected on the same USB bus, downloads will occasionally fail, or units will fail to be recognized.

Setting the R4 device number to 0 can cause it to not be correctly recognized by the master.

  <fileInfo>ZIP | 70.99 MB</fileInfo>
  <fileDetails>

Note:
All prerequisite files are included in the WinZip download file along with upgrade instructions.

Requires latest TPD4 Software (2.11.611 or later) to use new Fast Dynamo feature.

Requires latest MET-ECOM firmware (1.01.15 or later) to use the Fast Dynamo feature with MET-ECOM video.

Requires new SIP NetLinx module and panel pages in order to support automatic accelerated video and SIP in conjunction with a MET-ECOM device. As a workaround to achieve accelerated video, the existing module can be modified by searching for "%Fstream_cam_wg.mjpeg" and replacing with "%Fstream_cam_eth.mjpeg". Additionally, the "Dynamo Resource" box must be checked for the camera resource in the TPD4 Resource Manager.

Changes in This Release:

Added a recovery method for a malfunctioning wireless card when subjected to ESD.

Known Issues:

Loss of connection may occur after sending TPD4 page in NDP(UDP)/URL(UDP) mode.

Panel is unable to display two fast dynamo images simultaneously. If two are ever required an additional resource should be created in the TPD4
Resource Manager without "Dynamo Resource" specified.

When an image is designated "Dynamo Resource" in the TPD4 Resource Manager, only one image should be visible at any one time because only one can be accelerated at a time. If multiple images are required (e.g. a popup viewing the same image as an underlying page), then a separate Resource should be created in the Resource Manager without the "Dynamo Resource" box checked, and that resource should be used anywhere a duplicate image is needed.

Fill color on a button with Fast Dynamo is always black.

Alpha blending is not supported for Fast Dynamo buttons. If any text or other buttons appear on top of a button with Fast Dynamo video, the Overall Opacity is ignored and the graphics are overlaid on top of the video rather than blended. If blending is required, standard dynamo video can still be used but the video will not be accelerated.

On rare occasion, wireless security settings can't be changed. If a reboot does not correct this, it may be necessary to reset to factory defaults via the protected setup page, then modify the wireless settings as desired.

Deep sleep has been disabled altogether due to 802.11 issues.

It is possible to design pages that will allow the Master Volume to be controlled. This can cause distortion in audio should the volume be set to a high value (higher than 25).

In some low memory situations, certain wireless functions (e.g. site survey) may cease to work.

Occasionally after entering the correct password to undock a panel, it may display a second keyboard asking for a password after the panel is removed. The new keyboard may be aborted with no adverse affects.

Changes in this release
Setup Pages (wireless changes in Wireless section below):

Implemented security button on protected setup page. Button now toggles between standard, secure, and DoD secure modes.

There is a new button on the audio page for a new feature called a docking tone. When the panel is properly placed on the cradle (i.e. panel is docked pop-up appears) a tone will now play. The button is to enable/disable this feature.

Added info buttons on audio, wireless settings, and site survey pages to better help users with features.

Added Device Name field below Device Number on protected setup page to allow the naming of the panel. There is also a Synchronize button on this page to synchronize all names on the panel (i.e. hostname, G4 Web Control Name, etc) to this name. This will allow the panel to have one name no matter how it is accessed.

Added ability to select audio tone for button hit/miss. There are now 10 tones shipped with the panel. Dealer can customize these tones by putting a "customSingle.wav" and/or "customDouble.wav" file in the resources of the user pages.

Battery level changes color between charge and discharge states.

Panel information page will now show RAM available as well as total RAM.

New button added to main setup page to allow disabling display timeout when on external power.

Shutdown button added to protected setup page. Panel must be running on batteries for this to be enabled. If on external power the button will be grayed out.

Can now configure number of G4 Web control users to 1, 2, or 3. Default remains 1.

Network:

Panels now properly report their hostname to the DHCP/DNS servers. Can now be accessed by hostname on the network.

DHCP will no longer timeout. It will continuously try to pull an IP address from the DHCP server.

QoS (Quality of Service) bits are now being set for packetized voice data. For networks that support this feature voice data will be given priority over other packets.

Replaced "release dhcp" telnet command with "renew dhcp". The renew will release and then renew the IP address.

Icon has been added to setup pages to identify how panel is connected to the master. A wireless icon or USB icon will be displayed.

Wireless:

Fixed WPA reauthentication issues.

Added new roaming mode "averaged". See info button on wireless page for details/explanation of roaming modes.

Fixed wireless lockups when in roaming mode and in a noisy environment where there are a lot of retries of packets and wireless scans take a long time to complete.

Fix for Japan country code.

Added ability to disable one group of channels so they aren't scanned by the card. This will prevent the card from scanning channels where there are no WAPs. If activated the card will skip these channels when searching for access points. This is effective whether roaming is enabled or not.

Can now specify key renewal time for EAP/FAST without requiring a reboot.

Significantly modified Wireless page for easier use. Now two modes: Simple and Enterprise. Context sensitive fields show which fields are required entries.

No more "Excellent", "Very Good", etc for signal strength. Actual signal strength in dBm as reported by the wireless card is now displayed and updated every 2s. Bar graph representing signal strength (similar to cell phone) is now also shown.

Changes to the wireless settings page will take affect immediately with no reboot required.

Primary DNS, secondary DNS, domain names will now populate on the setup page.

Lots of wireless stability added to resolve some lingering lockup issues.

Roaming algorithms greatly improved to increase speed of roaming and to increase resiliency and robustness of roaming.

Removed pass phrase generation from wireless security pages.

Site survey page will now display security types much quicker for all WAPs detected.

Entry placed in panel logs when panel switches WAPs.

Misc:

Fixed memory leaks introduced in earlier builds.

Fixed firmware download timeout on USB port.

Resolved possibility of compact flash corruption after a firmware upgrade or when power is pulled due to low battery.

Fixed issue that prevented "Panel Docked" message from showing on panel during occasional docking in the cradle.

Fixed crash with heavy Flash/Cache usage.

Boot time decreased by 40%.

Added rudimentary diagnostics mode. If panel locks up can access with a hold of top left and bottom left buttons for 3s. Front LED will blink 3 times to indicate diag mode is active. Pressing lower left button will disable diag mode and flash LED 3 times to indicate inactive. When in this mode each touch and button press will blink LED. Center joystick button will force panel shutdown. A good way of rebooting without having to pull batteries.

Blinking dot added to boot up screen (where AMX logo is shown) to indicate activity and that boot up is in progress.

Splash screen added after first boot following a firmware upgrade. Splash screen text is "Firmware upgrade in progress, please wait". After new firmware is installed panel will reboot again to normal AMX logo.

Added ability for dealers to customize the boot splash screen with their company logo or other image. Logo must be same resolution as panel. If "custom_logo.jpg" is found in the user pages (added to resources of user pages in TPDesign) then panel will display that image. After AMX logo is displayed for a few seconds the new logo will be displayed. This gives dealers a way of branding the panel to their dealership.

Default device number of shipping panels will be 0 (pulls a dynamic device number from the master). This will not affect device numbers of existing panels that upgrade to this firmware.

Fixed loss of calibration issue at startup that randomly occurred. Also, in the event this does ever occur again the panel will detect it and notify the user that touch information has been lost. Touching the screen will take it directly to the calibration page.

Panel will send string to the master each time someone connects or disconnects to the panel using G4WebControl. The IP address of the user is included in the string. Strings sent are:

G4WebControl <ip addr> Start

G4WebControl <ip addr> End

Fixed feedback issue with channels above 255.

Fixed issue with 8-bit mono wav files and distorted playback of mp3 files.

Get IP and Set IP commands now working correctly from telnet.

Added ability to sanitize a touch panel for removal from a secure environment. This will render the panel dead and will require that the panel be shipped back to AMX for programming. AMX will charge for this service.

Added support for marquis buttons.

User names and passwords are now cleared on "reset system settings"

Fixed ^VKS issue with certain keystrokes (enter, ctl, alt, shift)

Fixed issue with reporting of levels to the master if the panel pages have a lot of levels on them.

Fixed many dynamic image problems.

Changed minimum pulse time for AMX IR to 300ms.

Panel will now send string to master when shutdown occurs due to battery too low or battery shutdown timer occurs (i.e. no activity).

"Shutdown - battery timeout"

"Shutdown - battery low"

Known Issues:

When downgrading from 2.86.xx or later to a version of 2.85.xx or earlier a reset of the system settings is required.

When connecting to the panel via USB (i.e. firmware transfer, panel file download, telnet, etc) the cable should be disconnected *before* a reboot. If it is still connected there is a small possibility that the panel will boot and detect a USB issue and reboot again. This reboot cycle will continue, never leaving the splash screen, until the panel is power cycled or shutdown. This is not a new problem. It has been an issue with the manufacturers USB driver for many years. However, previously the panel would just hang on the splash screen and the panel would require a power cycle. Because we have made things more robust we now try to reboot the panel whereas before we did not. Thus, the error does not get cleared and the reboots continue. A simple power cycle or shutdown using the external buttons (new feature in this release) will clear this issue.

Fix for Japan country code

Changes in this release

Setup Pages (wireless changes in Wireless section below):

Implemented security button on protected setup page. Button now toggles between standard, secure, and DoD secure modes.

Added info buttons on audio and site survey pages to better help users with features.

Panel will automatically switch between wired and wireless if wire is disconnected and a wireless card is present. Will automatically switch back to wired when wire is connected once again.

If both wired and wireless are present panel will always attempt to use the wired connection first. This includes startup.

	  Wireless:

Fixed WPA reauthentication issues.

Bargraph representing signal strength (similar to cell phone) is now also shown.

Changes to the wireless settings page will take affect immediately with no reboot required.

Primary DNS, secondary DNS, domain names will now populate on the setup page.

Lots of wireless stability added to resolve some lingering lockup issues.

Removed passphrase generation from wireless security pages.

	  Misc:

Fixed memory leaks introduced in earlier builds.

Fixed firmware download timeout on USB port.

Resolved possibility of compact flash corruption after a firmware upgrade or when power is pulled due to low battery.

Fixed crash with heavy Flash/Cache usage.

	  Programming Information
New Commands (see documentation for format of commands -- not applicable to all panels):

Added command for reading/writing motion sensor enable.

Added command for reading/writing light sensor enable.

Added command to read MAC address.

Added command to enable reporting of touch values (x/y coordinates). When enabled panel will report touch/release with coordinates.

Added command to read/write the panel's display timeout.

Added command to read/write the panels' display brightness.

Added command to read/write the mute state of the panel.

Added command to read/write the panel's master volume.

Added command to read/write the panel's battery shutdown timeout.

Added command to read the charging status.

Added command to retrieve wireless info (WAP MAC, SSID, channel, signal level).

Added command to read the battery base version.

New for this release:

Hub now shows Master/Slave status via Online Tree in NetLinx Studio, Show Device and Show System in terminal, and DEVICE_INFO() in code.

Other IR Modes added:

RPRC05 (same functionality as RPAMX)

RPRC02 (same functionality as RPENDELEO)

RPMIOR1 (previously undocumented)

RPAMX and RPENDELEO are still supported, but are somewhat confusing because of the labeling on the remotes

RPMIOR1 maps the MIO SNAPI channels to endeleo remote channels for compatibility with other endeleo remotes

Added support for receive of all 255 AMX IR codes by the RXO2N. This is enabled via the new 'MIO' receive mode set via the 'RP' command.

Example: SEND_COMMAND dvRX, "'RPMIO'"

Configures the Rx to use the standard AMX IR codes.

Note: Avoid using toggling functions when using the RX as an IR receiver. Due to limitations in the RX communications, holding a button results in multiple pushes and releases instead of a push/hold/release.

Improved RX02N detection and online handling.

Serial handling (RS232 from and to RX02Ns) has been much improved. Notably, fixed RS232 transmit strings losing characters if they started with "$02" and ended with "$03".

UDM-0808 can now connect to masters with ICSP security enabled.

Firmware IDs corrected and updated.

Added EDID support. The VGA input ports now provide a default EDID to the attached host, currently using the same EDID as the TPI-PRO.

UDM-0808 commands added:

?C - return connections for audio and video

?V - return video connections

?A - return audio connections

?MM - show master mode status

?RPU - show 'restore on power up' flag status

RESETFACTORY - resets compensation, input types, and web page settings to factory defaults

Restore on power up is now the default (RPUON)

A web page has been added which provides a rudimentary control method if there is no master connection. The web page is labeled 'Control' on the Admin tab of the web pages and allows commands to be directly entered and replies (notifications) to be displayed for the UDM-0808 hub and RX02Ns.

Use Accept button to send commands.

Use Refresh button to get new replies.

New replies are added to the bottom of the list.

Use Clear button to clear replies.

Fixed ipSettings.xml web page will not load if network has no domain suffix.

Fixed audio loss problem on port 1

Known Issues:

If firmware transfer hangs on device 1 for more than a minute or two, reboot the UDM-0808. Transfer will resume after reboot.

Sending the SW1402_ONE_v0_6x.kit or original SW1402_KIT_v0_55.kit to a v0.68 or higher hub may cause the unit to become unresponsive and require service.

Do not mix old firmware RX02Ns with new firmware 0808s, or vice versa. This will result in poor communication between the RX and the hub. Update the RX02Ns to match the 0808 to which they are connected.

ICSP password may have to be reentered if 0808 reboots.

There are some problems with IE 8 browser compatibility - use IE7 compatibility with this browser

Audio pop and noise when doing FW upgrade.

Audio "pops" with control when Digital Audio is used

Brightness, Sharpness, and Skew levels don't update when updated via their respective commands.

  	Updates for this release:

Added sync override - setup page allows three options, Common, On-green and Port. Common forces all ports to use common mode sync On-green forces all ports to use sync on-green and Port allows each port to be set individually. Default is all common.

Correct user control error where setting the video types would clear the user control definitions. Definitions are now kept when changing types and re-arranged if necessary to accommodate the new types.

Audio can now be muted across all ports using UDP command (25).

Serial data transfer to and from Rx has been improved especially at lower baud rates.

Fixed a problem with IE7 which could result in multiple key presses or mouse clicks and result in multiple schedule entries or erratic control actions.

Fixed passthrough operation so 1604 does not enter pasthrough mode unless enabled in user control.

Removed user control pages from non-endeleo remotes.

Audio 'popping' on switching and data transfer, especially on other ports when port 1 was being used for control transfers has been eliminated for ports set to analog audio.

	Known Issues:

Audio 'popping' is still present when using digital (SPDIF) audio.

	Programming Information:

To upgrade unit, use SW-UDM1604C-01A_v1_46_02.zip

To use feature 3) 'Mute' send command 25 per the UDM Protocol document via Serial or UDP:

25,0,64 will mute all audio

25,0,128 will enable all audio

The NXA-AVB/RGB Ethernet/RGB Breakout Box (FG2254-11) allows any of AMX's VG-Series Modero Touch Panels to accept and display both RGB or HDTV Component signals directly from an external source.

New Features: Adds support for RoHS-compliant USB chip.

NOTE: When working with firmware, it is important to note that version 1.xx of firmware should only be loaded onto boxes using 1.xx series firmware. The version 2.xx firmware should only be loaded onto boxes running 2.xx series firmware. To confirm the current firmware version, you can either navigate to the BOB Version field on the RGB Adjustment page or launch NetLinx Studio and open the Online Tree tab. Modero VG touch panel firmware 2.60.27 or higher is required to download v2.xx firmware into the break out box.

Inspired XPress is based on a new player which provides a small, yet powerful digital signage solution with customization capabilities for moderately sophisticated customers.

Updating Firmware

To check if a new version of the firmware is available for your unit:

With your preferred web browser, connect to the HTTP server of your unit by entering the device's IP address into the browser.

Click on Firmware Update under the Administration menu on your left.

Check that the field Server URI is equal to: "http://webservices.amx.com/ InspiredSignage/IS-SPX-1000/updates/". (If this is not the case, click the Reset to Default button)

In the Manual Update section, select the update source "From server" and click the Check for Update button

A new page will open. At the end of the check, the page reports the current update status of your IS-SPX-1000 unit. Three cases are possible:

No updates are available

Updates are ready to install. See the section 'Updating IS-SPX-1000 firmware' section to learn how to process with the update.

The update failed

The most probable source of this error is that your IS-SPX-1000 could not contact the update server. It is recommended to check your internet connection and your network configuration. Make sure that a Gateway and a DNS server are configured. If the IS-SPX-1000 is not connected to the internet, you need to contact AMX Technical Support to check which update procedure is best suited to your configuration. Please specify in your message if your IS-SPX-1000 device(s) are in a location where you can easily plug an USB key or if they have local network connectivity.

Fatal Error: If the update process reports a fatal error, please contact AMX Technical Support to find how to restore the firmware of your IS-SPX-1000.

If the check for updates procedure reported that updates are available for your IS-SPX-1000, click the Update Now button to start the update process.

Important: Do not power down the IS-SPX-1000 at any time during the update process.

The IS-SPX-1000 will restart automatically once the update process is over. It is possible that the web page displays a time-out error during the update. However, this has no influence on the update process itself.

At the end of this process, refresh your web browser to display the new firmware version under the Current Versions section. If you click the Check for Update button again, the page will report that no updates are available.

Automatic update

If your IS-SPX-1000 is configured to use automatic update and has direct access to the Internet, it will update its firmware automatically as soon as a firmware update is available. The update will take place at 3:00 AM and will not modify the content played by the IS-SPX-1000. This update also will not affect its display and networks settings.

To enable the automatic update feature:

Check the Enable automatic updates check box

Select the update time

Press Apply to validate your changes

The IS-SPX-1000 will reboot at the end of the next update

NOTE: During large updates, the IS-SPX-1000 stops its normal function during the update process.

WARNING: Enabling automatic updates requires either a stable power grid or the use of an UPS power source. The IS-SPX-1000 could become corrupt if a power loss occurs during the update. If the device becomes corrupted, a complete firmware re-installation and device reconfiguration is necessary.
