DXLink Transmitter Firmware v.1.6.32 Hot Fix (Available from AMX Technical Support)

Changes in this release:
Added use of actual DVI only edid mode setting. To turn dvi mode on, type "dvi on" from the telnet interface. "dvi off" will turn it off, and "dvi" will give the status. After changing the status of the dvi mode, a reboot is necessary "This mode will pass the DVI edid only to the source, and not include the extended edid, but only when the sink from the RX is actually dvi. The mode should not affect hdmi sinks"

Fixes applicable to all devices:

  • Fixed a video offset issue when viewing NTSC video.
  • Implemented method to get BER data from remote Valens connection
  • Improve robustness of video detection for noisy digital sources
  • Added commands to force freeRun modes for video debugging
  • Video monitor addition to ensure video is evaluated and setup properly
  • Improved video recovery when video is not detected properly
  • Fixed a memory leak in ICSP that could cuase a lockup
  • Includes VIDIN_AUTO_SELECT-ANALOG. Allows auto select to prioritize analog over digital signals.
  • Includes watchdog. To turn the watchdog on, type "wd on" from the telnet interface. "wd off" will turn it off, and "wd" will give the status. After changing the status of the watchdog, a reboot is necessary
  • Includes low memory monitoring in the watchdog. If low memory is detected, the device will reboot.
  • Includes ICSP timeout monitoring in the watchdog. If the device falls offline from the Master for more than 5 minutes, the device will reboot.
  • Fixed a problem that would display a pink screen on the output display when in a point to point setup

Known Issues:
ANALOG mode is limited to detecting correct analog format.

DXLink HDMI Receiver Module Firmware v.1.9.53 Hot Fix (Available from AMX Technical Support)

Prerequisites:

  • DXLink RX v1.9.10 (or later) should be loaded on the DXLink Receiver prior to upgrade
  • DXLink TX v1.6.7 (or later) should be loaded on the DXLink Transmitters to get the most benefit from this RX version
  • Enova DGX enclosures should at least have the following:
    • DGX 8/16/32 (NI Master) v4.2.395 & DGX kit 2.0.0.12
    • DGX 8/16/32/32 (NX Master) v1.2.312 & DGX kit 2.0.0.12
  • Enova DVX 315X and 215X should at least have the following:
    • Master v4.8.316
    • Switcher Firmware v1.6.31
  • NetLinx Studio V3.4 (4.0 if using NX master)

Features added in this release:
No new features

  • Previously released in v1.9.52
    • Added a watchdog for point to point setups. In a telnet session, type "wdp2p on x.x.x.x" to enable. The x.x.x.x is the ip address of the opposite device. To disable, in a telnet session type "wdp2p off". A reboot is required after enabling or disabling the state for it to take effect. Leave the RX and MFTX in static ip mode. Once the devices ping each other the watchdog will be armed. If they fail to ping each other for 1 minute the watchdog will fire.
  • Previously released in v1.9.49
    • Added an offline recovery mechanism if a master connection is expected. In a telnet session, type "wdurlsocket on" to enable or "wdurlsocket off" to disable this feature. WARNING! - Do not use this feature if the DX-RX is not configured to connect to a Master.
  • Previously released in v1.9.38
    • Added manual resolution 1920x1080p@50Hz to supported res/ref list (VIDOUT_RES_REF-1920x1080p,50)
    • Added manual resolution 1280x800@120Hz to supported res/ref list (VIDOUT_RES_REF-1280x800,120)

Fixes in this release:
Fixed a video issue where no video would be sent to certain sink devices (i.e. Polycom HDX8000)

Previously released in v1.9.49

ONLINE

  • Fixed issue where an DX-RX could generate multiple online/offline events during bootup of the system. This seemed to occur more frequently when the DX-RX's are configured with static IP address.
  • Improved the AMX master connection to reduce the number of offline events.
  • Fixed an issue with the TCP 3-way handshake process. This issue also caused offline events.

VIDEO

  • Fixed black screen issue seen with some Dell laptops as the source in point to point setups after unplugging the HDMI cable.
  • == Previously released in v1.9.38 ==
  • Hardened upstream video detection and monitoring
  • Improved HDCP authentication to prevent Orange Screen on certain HDCP compliant monitors
  • Corrected VIC (Video Info Code) reporting when manual CEA resolutions are used
  • Fixed video flicker issue due to audio changes from certain upstream devices (i.e. DGX SC Fiber TX)

AUDIO (RX.e and RX.c)

  • Corrected detection issues of various Surround Sound (Dolby/DTS) and HBR (High Bit Rate) Audio formats (Dolby TrueHD/DTS-HD Master Audio)
  • NOTE: HBR audio REQUIRES Hi-Def VIDEO with a pixel clock of 127MHz or higher, in order to effectively pass HBR content (i.e. 1280x720p,60 / 1920x1080p,60 / etc.)

Notable Points:

  • If a send command "FACTORYAV" or telnet "RESET FACTORY" is sent, a reboot of the RX will be required.
  • PLEASE READ the documentation in regard to the DIP switches located on the bottom of the Tx/Rx modules before attempting to connect to the network
  • The RX uses a solid ORANGE screen to indicate an HDCP authentication failure with the connected device
  • If using a hostname in the USB_HID_ROUTE command, the hostname length is limited to 50 characters

Programming Information

UPGRADING

Important–Due to a HWID change, this kit will FAIL on the first attempt of the kit transfer IF upgrading from firmware earlier than v1.9.32

  1. Transfer kit v1.9.53 to the RX. If upgrading from a version earlier than 1.9.32, it will abort: "Transfer Aborted Unsupported file type." If this happens, then proceed to step 2
  2. Reboot the RX (via telnet or power cycle) then check the firmware versions in the Online Tree:
    • g. 07001 - DXLINK-HDMI-RX.e (v1.9.53)
    • [OID=1] - MQX (v3.62)
    • [OID=2] - DXLINK Boot (v1.9.53)
    • [OID=3] - DXLINK App (v1.9.53)
    • [OID=5] - DXLINK Link (3.0.x.x)
    • [OID=6] - DXLINK FPGA (1.0.0.6)
  3. If the FPGA is still not up to date, then transfer kit v1.9.53 again to completele the transfer of the final component. If the FW is up to date then no other kit transfers are required.

DOWNGRADING

  • Also due to the HWID change, RX's with a factory firmware image of v1.9.32 or later will not be able to downgrade to versions earlier than v1.9.32. The loaded fw images can be seen in a telnet session to the RX by typing: fwimages
  • Example of RX that can be downgraded below 1.9.32: >fwimages
  • Available Firmware Images
  • Slot Boot App
    • 0 v1.9.17 v1.9.17 //0 is the factory image
    • 1 v1.9.38 v1.9.38 //upgraded to .38
    • *2 v1.9.28 v1.9.28 //then downgraded to .28
    • * - slot to use at next boot
  • Booted from slot 2 - v1.9.28 v1.9.28

NXR-ZGW NetLinx ZigBee Pro Gateway Firmware v.3.01.17 Hot Fix (Available from AMX Technical Support)

    1. For the proper operation of all devices, it is recommended that all devices be brought up to the most current firmware version.

    2. Loading procedures for v3.01.17:

When upgrading from any version less than v3.00.00:

    1. Upgrade to v3.00.00 first (example: v1.01.20 -> v3.00.00)
    2. The upgrade from v3.00.00 to v3.01.16 will require two loads of the file SW5791_01A_NXR_ZGW_v3_01_16.kit. The first load will fail after the third file is transferred with the NetLinx error message "Transfer Aborted - Unsupported file type." After getting this error message, reboot the gateway and verify that the NetLinx OnLine Tree shows v3.01.12 for the version on the gateway. Transfer file SW5791_01A_NXR_ZGW_v3_01_16.kit to the gateway a second time with the "Reboot Device" box checked in NetLinx. This time the entire kit file will transfer. After the gateway reboots, it will download the firmware to the radio. This will take approximately two minutes.
    3. Load SW5795_92_ZIGBEE_END_DEVICE_v3_01_05.kit -- a gateway reboot IS NOT necessary after sending this file.
    4. Load SW5791_07_ZIGBEE_REPEATER_v3_01_05.kit -- a gateway reboot IS NOT necessary after sending this file.

    When upgrading from v3.00.00:

    1. The upgrade from v3.00.00 to v3.01.16 will require two loads of the file SW5791_01A_NXR_ZGW_v3_01_16.kit. The first load will fail after the third file is transferred with the NetLinx error message "Transfer Aborted - Unsupported file type." After getting this error message, reboot the gateway and verify that the NetLinx OnLine Tree shows v3.01.16 for the version on the gateway.
    2. Load SW5795_92_ZIGBEE_END_DEVICE_v3_01_05.kit -- a gateway reboot IS NOT necessary after sending this file.
    3. Load SW5791_07_ZIGBEE_REPEATER_v3_01_05.kit -- a gateway reboot IS NOT necessary after sending this file.

    When upgrading from v3.01.07:

    1. Transfer the file SW5791_01A_NXR_ZGW_v3_01_16.kit to the gateway via NetLinx with the "Reboot Device" box checked in NetLinx.

It is not necessary to reload SW5795_92_ZIGBEE_END_DEVICE_v3_01_05.kit or SW5791_07_ZIGBEE_REPEATER_v3_01_05.kit since these files have not changed in this release.
    2. Recommission all devices on the network.

    Prerequisites:

    • NXR-ZGW firmware v3.00.00
    • Zigbee Coordinator firmware v3.00.00
    • NXR-ZRP firmware v3.00.00
    • R4 ZigBee module firmware v3.00.00

    CHANGES in this Release:

    • Fixes the "auto-release" bug by sending correct system number information
    • Includes zero-config fix
    • Icsp may now use ports other than 1319
    • Includes two new features
      1. May send Netlinx command to Gateway to turn Gateway to "Joinable"
        -- send_command <device>, 'Join'
      2. May send Netlinx command to Gateway to make a connect R4 bind to a different Gateway (must make other gateway joinable with previous command or go on website and click joinable)
        -- send_command <device>, 'Bind, <R4 mac address>, <new gateway extPanId>, [optional]<AESkey>'
        -- ex) send_command 11383, 'Bind, 00:0d:6f:00:00:c6:11:d7, AZG70010' //no password
        -- ex) send_command 11383, 'Bind, 00:0d:6f:00:00:c6:11:d7, AZG70010, aa:c9:9a:cb:61:ca:70:e7:13:df:ee:6f:d6:42:59:86'

    KNOWN ISSUES:

    • On systems that have one gateway and no repeaters, the remotes can become inoperable under extreme amounts of traffic (for example, 30 messages every two seconds to each of six remotes). Rebooting these devices will bring them back online.
    • Setting the gateway device number to 0 can cause it to not be correctly recognized by the master on master firmware releases less than v3.50.430.
    • The gateway does not currently support NDP mode for master connections.
    • In high traffic situations remotes can appear on the gateway commissioning page, even though they are commissioned. This has no impact on the actual operation of the remotes.
    • In some cases, the R3 power source will show as "Unknown" on the gateway web pages when the R3 is in its cradle. This issue does not impact the functionality of the remote or the gateway.
    • If using an ICSP port other than 1319, downgrading to firmware versions prior to 3.01.17 can cause the gateway to be unable to connect until it is reset to defaults. Setting the port to 1319 prior do downgrading the firmware avoids this issue.

Mio Modero R-4 Firmware v.3.01.48 Hot Fix (Available from AMX Technical Support)

    Changes in this release:

    • Fixed several issues with the touch rail and tilt sensor implementation that was causing the Mio-R4 Remote to not immediately wake up when touched and/or tilted.
    • Fixed issue that was causing false wakeup events. Internal flags were not cleared correctly when the Mio-R4 Remote went to sleep. This led to a false wakeup event when the Mio-R4 Remote started processing an unrelated event.
    • Fixed issue where the Mio-R4 Remote would always stay awake due to an internal timer that was not being handled correctly.
    • Implemented a more reliable keypad scanner algorithm resulting in quicker responses to keypresses.
    • Changed the Mio-R4 Remote where it will not appear to wake up when it reconnects to an NI-Controller. The Mio-R4 Remote previously would have turned on the LCD display and the keypad light on wireless events such as a reboot of the Zigbee Gateway.
    • Changed the Mio-R4 Remote where it will now only send the START string on bootup. Previous versions of firmware would send the START string everytime the Mio-R4 Remote reconnected to the Ni-Controller
    • Changed the Mio-R4 Remote where it will now reboot when an internal fault is detected during bootup. Previous versions of firmware would cause the "fast flash" behavior of the power button light.
    • Enabled the hardware watchdog and set it up to trigger is the master connection is lost for more than 10 minutes.
    • Changed the power button reboot time to 7 seconds.
    • Fixed an issue with the watchdog not resetting on soft reboots
    • Fixed an issue with the watchdog not being paused when device enters Standy mode with Sleep on Display Timeout enabled

    Programming Information:

    1. If the current firmware on the Mio-R4 Remote is anything less than 3.00, then load the SW0148_01B_MIOR4_ZIGBEE_MODULE_3_00_00.kit file first. If SW0148_01A_MIOR4_3_00_00.kit is accidentally loaded first, the radio will be unable to communicate with the Mio-R4 Remote host processor and cannot be upgraded. In this case, the Mio-R4 Remote host processor will have to be downgraded to an older version of the firmware and then upgraded again with the radio being upgraded first. ViewStat Color Communicating Thermostat Firmware v.3.12 Hot Fix (Available from AMX Technical Support)
    • Fixes - Viewstats unable to change the temperature at night. Users couldn't change the temperature, when in "Sleep" program schedule, while in program mode. The only way to adjust it was to change it to permanent hold.
    • Fixes - ViewStats falling back into sleep set points during other program modes time frame. Once the setpoint with the minutes other than zero was encountered the stat would revert to the previous set point for the duration of the minutes from the top of the hour to that minute mark.
    • Fixes - Comfort recovery did not come on until 12am. When 2-hour cycle occurs over midnight comfort recovery did not come on until 12a when 2-hour cycle occurs over midnight.
    • Fixes - AM is AM but PM is AM. If you set program mode times to be all AM the thermostat Program time would still trigger like they were PM times.
