AMX University currently offers two primary methods of instruction: OnDemand and Classroom courses.

OnDemand or online courses are designed to deliver relevant content to your PC at your convenience. These courses may be reviewed after completion for reference and may be used as job aids.

Classroom or instructor-led courses have been developed with the right balance of knowledge and practical experience in mind. In our control courses, for example, each student accesses a personal control system at their desk. Students may design, integrate, and program a control system while in class. .

AMX Essentials
 

This 1-day introductory course offers you an exciting look at the capabilities of AMX products and control systems. Learn the basics you need to know before selling, designing, installing, or programming an AMX system. We will explain the basics of control systems, as well as give you hands-on experience with AMX products, network diagnostic utilities, and AMX software tools you use to develop control systems. If you have an interest in learning more about AMX, this course is for you!

If you are new to AMX, the AMX Essentials course is highly recommended before you pursue any ACE certification.

AMX Control Designer
 

This 2-day ACE certification course for Designers gives you the tools and knowledge necessary to effectively design control systems using the tools and resources AMX provides. Come learn the steps and critical concepts required in the design of an AMX control system, including touch panel and keypad designs and system power requirements. You will spend two days gaining hands-on experience with AMX VisualArchitect, VA Assistant and System Design Library. You will leave with a design checklist that will help you plan your next job.

During the AMX Designer course, you will complete a practical exam and an online test covering the information you learned in class. Upon successful completion of both, you will earn the ACE Control System Design Expert Certification.

AMX Control Installer

This 3-day ACE certification course for Installers focuses on the fundamentals of installing an AMX control system through hands-on experience with AMX VisualArchitect, NetLinx Studio, and numerous diagnostic utilities. Learn to configure devices, connect a control system, provide system security and remote management, build cables, transfer files, and troubleshoot a control system.

Online Prerequisites: Getting Started with AMX Quiz and Intro to Networking for AV Professionals.

During the AMX Installer course, you will complete a practical exam and an online test covering the information you learned in class. Upon successful completion of both, you will earn the ACE Control System Installation Expert Certification.

RMS Configuration and Programming

This 3-day course for integrators explains the concept of an RMS system, and demonstrates real ROI examples. This comprehensive course also reviews the server setup, covers all aspects of the RMS Web Interface and teaches RMS programming thru the use of CodeCrafter and NetLinx programming.

During the RMS Configuration and Programming course, you will complete a practical exam covering the information you learned in class. Upon successful completion of this exam, you will earn the ACE RMS Expert Certification.

Building Java Modules Using Café Duet

This 3-day course for programmers uses the AMX Café Duet software to develop communication modules for third-party devices.J2ME and OSGI are discussed in detail along with AMX JAVA Classes, methods, and components. By the end of the class, you will have the opportunity to develop a module for IR and serial devices.

Critical Listening and Calibration

This 2-day advanced audio course for the audio professional is designed to teach you to "hear" technical issues in an audio system. Course includes detailed discussions on digital audio compression and hands-on practice with EQ and microphone setup. This course covers topics such as: Frequency of Sound, Sound Level Changes, Frequency Band Limitations, Frequency Response Irregularities, Judgment of Sound Quality, Levels of Distortion, Reverberation Effects, Signal v. Signal Management Design & Implementation

This 2-day course for Audio Video Professionals teaches signal management technology, its design, and implementation procedures. Similarities and differences in analog and digital video signals will be discussed. Signal transmission and bandwidth calculation will be addressed. TPD4 UI Design

This 2-day course is for anyone who designs user interfaces. This course covers UI Design concepts including identifying customer needs, design process, themes and layouts, button feedback and color schemes. You will gain hands-on experience with the TPDesign4 software to create buttons, pages, pop-ups, bar graphs, levels, video windows, dynamic images, and animation. Some additional topics include: working with programmers to design a panel, programming properties, page templates, converting panel sizes, tweening, chameleon images and G4 Computer Control.
