Most Interesting AMX University Course:
Programmer 3

Something interesting about yourself:
"I have the ACE Expert logo tattooed on my right arm."

Favorite Memory of AMX University:
“I can give you a politically correct answer and tell you how educational, helpful and smart I became in AMX University, but the bottom line, my favorite memory has to be the people. The personal dedication, attention to detail and feeling of “they actually know who I am” that AMX personnel give you as you arrive.”

Project in which AMX University provided the most help:
“Jobing.com Arena (Coyotes Arena) in Glendale, AZ. This was a very challenging project. I was only Programmer 2 certified a short time prior to this project. It helped me tremendously with the completion. That, along with the outstanding knowledge and commitment from Lesley Ward in Tech Support ensured a successful ending.

Programming "Rule of Thumb":
“Know how the space will be used. Understand the client’s REAL needs (not what they want, but what they NEED). LISTEN. Don’t assume you have all the answers before you even talk to the client. Listen, truly listen and pay close attention.”

Advice for New AV Professionals:
“ASK-ASK-ASK!!  Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Build  relationships and network with other programmers.  Ask
for help when you need it and offer help when you can
give it.  Above all, don’t forget where you came from.”

Personal Philosophy:
“Build a control system that meets the client’s needs and then build the rest of the system around that.  Look for what I call “the WOW factor”.  Make them look at that touch panel and say “WOW” and make them WANT to use that system.  You are your biggest competitor; make your next job better than your last.  And lastly, NEVER stop learning!”
