More than 50 classes have been scheduled for 2012.

Control System Design Now Available Online

In an economy where travel to classroom training locations is sometimes impractical, AMX University provides effective, meaningful training when and where it is needed. Furthering this commitment to OnDemand training, AMX University is offering the Control System Design Certified learn track completely online.

The Control System Design course, previously only available as a classroom course, is now available as an OnDemand course in AMX University.  Completion of this course and a practical exam (which you can take at home without special equipment) qualifies you for the Control System Design Certified training certificate, part of the ACE Control System Expert certification.

Updates to the ACE Control System Expert Learn Tracks

AMX University continues to perfect its Control Solutions courses, not only addressing advancements in technology, but also taking into account the latest education theories to provide the most effective training possible. This year, AMX University has made changes to several of the courses in the ACE Control System Expert learn track.

  • Control System Design- As noted previously, while still required, this course has moved from a classroom to OnDemand, eliminating two days from the overall length of ACE Control System Expert.
  • Control System Installation- In coordination with changes made to this learn track and others, Control System Installation has seen a general cleanup, making for a tighter, more effective course
  • Touch Panel Design- The classroom TPDesign4 course has been eliminated. The core elements of Touch Panel Design are now included as part of Control Programming I.
  • Control System Programming I- Programming 1 has seen a massive general overhaul. The course, in addition to including a day of touch panel design, now provides exercise-focused, hands-on training that is applicable to real world control solutions.
  • Control System Programming II- In coordination with Programming I, the Programming II course has also seen a cleanup, and now follows the same exercise-oriented approach as P1.

Revamped ACE RMS Enterprise Expert Class(es)

While updating the RMS course to cover the new Resource Management Suite Enterprise Edition software, AMX University split the RMS course into three day-long courses. Completion of all three courses qualifies a student for the ACE RMS Solutions Expert.

  • RMS Enterprise for Installers and IT Personnel- This course focuses on the unique challenges of installing an RMS Enterprise system. As a student, you will complete the actual RMS Enterprise install including prerequisite software and configuration in the RMS Enterprise Web Interface.  You will be able to verify that your install completed and actually connect a master to your new RMS Server.
  • RMS Enterprise for Administrators and Users- This course focuses on how to administrate an RMS System. As a student, you will complete practical RMS administrator and user scenarios within the RMS Enterprise Web Interface.
  • RMS Enterprise for Programmers- This course focuses on the correct way to program an RMS system. Note that this course requires the student to be Control System Programming Certified (completed Control Programming I and II plus relevant exams). As a student, you will gain an understanding of the RMS architecture as well as actually program a practical scenario system using NetLinx Studio and the RMS Enterprise Server.
