LONDON, UK — AMX and HARMAN Professional Solutions partnered with the Learning and Teaching Spaces Managers Group (LTSMG) to host LTSMG@Home 2021 in the HARMAN Experience Center – London.
For over 20 years, the LTSMG has provided higher education, AV, media, and IT managers with a forum to share knowledge and ideas through a private mailing list. Additionally, the group holds an annual conference usually hosted by one of the university members on their campus.
In 2020 and 2021, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the event has taken place online. AMX by HARMAN was awarded the opportunity to host the event this year in the HARMAN Experience Center – London. Designed to showcase how HARMAN solutions uniquely address customer needs across a variety of entertainment and enterprise market applications, the 25,800-square-foot (2,400-square-meter), multi-functional facility, including EMEA headquarters offices, demonstrates the integration of brands including JBL Professional®, AKG®, AMX®, BSS Audio ®, Crown®, dbx Professional®, Lexicon Pro®, Martin®, and Soundcraft®.
The event was attended by remote delegates from a combination of approximately 75 universities and manufacturers that focus on products and services for the higher education sector.
The one-day agenda covered many topics relevant to the higher education market with live round table discussions, live panel Q&As, and pre-recorded manufacturer presentations. As the host, AMX was able to provide demonstrations of its latest products as well as a full HARMAN Experience Center tour featuring solutions from AMX, JBL and Martin.
After-event entertainment for delegates included a gin tasting experience (all remote delegates were sent a delegate pack including gin samples) hosted by Copper in the Clouds Spirits and streamed live from the Experience Center via Zoom. This was followed by a live performance by The Filthy Casuals on the HARMAN Experience Center stage and a comedic quiz to wrap up the day.
The common theme in the extremely positive feedback from the event was that this was the best virtual event many of the delegates had attended and LTSMG plans to conduct on-site HARMAN Experience Center tours for its members, including many tier one UK universities.
