DXLink Transmitter Firmware v1.6.29

Last Updated: 9月28日

!!IMPORTANT: READ PROGRAMMING INFORMATION SECTION BELOW IN REGARD TO UPGRADING OLDER FIRMWARE VERSIONS!!

Prerequisites

  • DXLink TX v1.6.7 (or later) must be loaded on the DXLink Transmitters to upgrade
  • DXLink RX v1.9.10 (or later) must be loaded on the DXLink Receiver to get the most benefit from this TX version
  • Enova DGX enclosures should ideally have the following:
    • DGX 8/16/32 (NI Master) v4.2.395 & DGX kit 2.0.0.11
    • DGX 8/16/32/32 (NX Master) v1.2.312 & DGX kit 2.0.0.11
  • Enova DVX 315X and 215X should ideally have the following:
    • Master v4.8.316
    • Switcher Firmware v1.6.31
  • NetLinx Studio V3.4 (4.0 if using NX master)

Features added in this release

  • Added an "Offline Recovery Mechanism." In a telnet session, type "WD ON" to enable or "WD OFF" to disable this feature. A reboot is required after enabling or disabling the state for it to take effect. This also monitors conditions when:
    • A DXLink device processor becomes unstable
    • The DXLink device’s exceeds it's minimum memory threshold

Fixes in this release:

  • Fixed a video offset issue when viewing NTSC video.
  • Implemented method to get stats from downstream device
  • Improved robustness of video detection for noisy digital sources (aka. garbage video)
  • Added steps to ensure video is evaluated and setup properly
  • Improved recovery when video is not detected (like when a source wakes up from standby/sleep mode)
  • Fixed a memory leak in ICSP that could negatively impact device's network stability

Notable Points

  • PLEASE READ the documentation in regard to the DIP switches located on the bottom of the Tx/Rx modules before attempting to connect to the network

Programming Information

!!Important - Two downloads of this kit file may be required if upgrading from a version earlier than 1.6.7. A reboot of the Tx is needed in between kits. Please follow the following steps to complete this upgrade on the DXLink TX device!!

  1. Transfer v1.6.29 kit file to the RX. Note: If upgrading from a version earlier than 1.6.7, the upgrade will abort due to memory error. If so, complete steps 2 & 3.
  2. Reboot the Tx device so v1.6.29 application can run.
  3. Transfer v1.6.29 kit file again so new DXLink Link version will take affect
  • Special Process Consideration for applying upgrade to FG1010-300 only: For upgrading a DXLINK HDMI TX from 1.1.xx to this load, a "FACTORYAV" or a RESET FACTORY is needed once the load has booted.
  • Special Process Consideration for Applying upgrade to FG1010-310, FG1010-320-BL, FG1010-320-WH: The default preferred resolution within the Analog Input (HD-15) EDID set in Firmware v. 1.6.8 is 1920x1080P, 60. However if the previous firmware level was prior to 1.2.38, the previous EDID preferred resolution setting will continue to persist at 1920x1200,60. To move to the updated standard preferred resolution of 1920x1080P,60 one of the following steps must be taken:
    1. Issue a "FACTORYAV" to the device
    2. Issue a send command "VIDIN_PREF_EDID-1920X1080P,60"to port 8
  • To validate this setting, the following send command can be sent to port 8: ?VIDIN_PREF_EDID Additional preferred resolutions may also be selected. See user manual for preferred resolution selections.
  • PLEASE reference Appendix A (Upgrading the Firmware) in the DXLink Instruction Manual for more information.

Hot Fix for the DXLink Transmitter Firmware (v.1.6.32 Available from AMX Technical Support)

Changes in this release:
Added use of actual DVI only edid mode setting. To turn dvi mode on, type "dvi on" from the telnet interface. "dvi off" will turn it off, and "dvi" will give the status. After changing the status of the dvi mode, a reboot is necessary "This mode will pass the DVI edid only to the source, and not include the extended edid, but only when the sink from the RX is actually dvi. The mode should not affect hdmi sinks"

Fixes applicable to all devices:

  • Fixed a video offset issue when viewing NTSC video.
  • Implemented method to get BER data from remote Valens connection
  • Improve robustness of video detection for noisy digital sources
  • Added commands to force freeRun modes for video debugging
  • Video monitor addition to ensure video is evaluated and setup properly
  • Improved video recovery when video is not detected properly
  • Fixed a memory leak in ICSP that could cuase a lockup
  • Includes VIDIN_AUTO_SELECT-ANALOG. Allows auto select to prioritize analog over digital signals.
  • Includes watchdog. To turn the watchdog on, type "wd on" from the telnet interface. "wd off" will turn it off, and "wd" will give the status. After changing the status of the watchdog, a reboot is necessary
  • Includes low memory monitoring in the watchdog. If low memory is detected, the device will reboot.
  • Includes ICSP timeout monitoring in the watchdog. If the device falls offline from the Master for more than 5 minutes, the device will reboot.
  • Fixed a problem that would display a pink screen on the output display when in a point to point setup

Known Issues:
ANALOG mode is limited to detecting correct analog format.
