Die NX-Serie der NetLinx Integrated Controllers kann programmiert werden, um Ethernet-, RS-232/422/485-, Relay-, IR- und Input/Output-Geräte sowie weitere AMX-Geräte, die über AxLink verbunden sind, mit beiden Programmiersprachen NetLinx und Java zu steuern. NetLinx-Programme werden mit der Anwendung NetLinx Studio entwickelt. Java-Programme werden mit der Anwendung Cafe Duet entwickelt. Die NX-Serie-Controller können auch mit Rapid Project Maker (RPM), einem cloudgestützten Konfigurationstool, programmiert werden.
