Overview

The SC-N8000 N-Command Controllers provide intuitive and powerful management of SVSI system configuration, task automation, scripting, and wall building. N-Command Control Appliances also include a simplified ASCII interface for 3rd-party control via TCP/IP.

Features

Installation

Move the FILENAME.qplugx file to the Q-SYS directory in your \Documents\QSC\Q-Sys Designer\Plugins folder. Note: Q-SYS designer may need to be closed for this to update correctly.

On the next launch of Q-SYS designer, you will see the plugin in the Schematic Elements pane under Plugins > User > AMX

Updating the plugin

When updating the plugin, follow the same steps as above. If an error appears, you may need to manually delete the old plugin and place the new one in the \Documents\QSC\Q-Sys Designer\Plugins folder.

Setup

Prerequisites

Before configuring the plugin:

  • Ensure the N-Command Controller is connected to a network and have a valid IP address in a subnet which the Q-SYS core can communicate with.
  • Ensure the IP Address will not change. Static or MAC reserve your N-Command Controller on the network.

Configuration Overview

  1. Drag the plugin into your schematic. (N-Command Controller and Encoders, Decoders, Transceivers according to your setup)

  2. Press F5 to save your design to the Core and run it. (Or, press F6 to emulate your design.)

  3. In your schematic, double-click the plugin to open the component's control panel.

  4. In the Connection page, enter the N-Command Controller's IP Address.

  5. Upon successful connection, the Connection status should show "OK" and discovered devices populated.

  6. Enter IP Address into your Encoder, Decoder, Transceiver Plugins to make the link to the N-Command Controller.
