Release Notes
=============

RMS Enterprise Scheduling Interface for Exchange
Current Version: 1.3.1
Release Date: June 2026

Prerequisites
-------------

-- RMS Enterprise Server version 4.8.6 or later.

-- Microsoft Exchange 2016.

-- Microsoft Exchange 2019.

-- Microsoft Office 365.

-- Azure AD Tenant to create App(for Modern Authentication).

-- On the "Exchange Online", you MUST have a 'Group' with the Room Mailboxes as "Group Members".
For more details, refer to the 'User Manual' or contact our 'Tech Support'.

-- If you are upgrading from earlier versions of EWS, you SHOULD complete the configuration in the "Pre-requisites to retain 'Resource
Profile' mappings" step of 'RMS Enterprise Scheduling Interface for Exchange Set up wizard', which is VERY IMPORTANT to retain the
existing 'Resource Profiles' mapping.

After updating, you MUST perform the "Re-Sync Scheduling Server" and Save the Resource Profile settings.

Changes in this release
-----------------------

-- Upgraded the "built-in" JRE version to 21.

-- 'Global Service (Commercial)' or 'National Cloud' endpoints can be used with this version.

-- New "Filter" support is added to 'Exchange Online (Modern Authentication)' Configuration of the 'Exchange Settings' tab,
to fetch ONLY the "Resource Profiles (Room Mailboxes)" which are the defined as members of a 'Group',
instead of fetching all the "Resource Profiles (Room Mailboxes)" that are available in the Tenant,
unlike the earlier versions.

-- Fixed the 'Resource Profile' un-mapping issue, when updating the new 'Client Secret' or 'Client Certificate'. Now, only
when the 'Tenant' is changed, the confirmation dialog appears to un-map the existing Resource Profiles.

-- The radio button text of 'Basic' and 'Modern' Authentication on the 'Exchange Settings' tab are changed.

-- Dropdown label text is now modified to "Microsoft Graph" for the 'Exchange Online (Modern Authentication)'.

-- 'Microsoft Graph' dropdown options** in the 'Exchange Settings' tab for 'Exchange Online (Modern Authentication)' are changed as:
- Global Service (Commercial)
- US Government L4 (GCC High)
- US Government L5 (DOD)
- China operated by 21Vianet

** NOTE: As the 'Germany' National Cloud endpoint is discontinued, "Germany" option is removed from the dropdown.
The end-users, need to choose the 'Global Service (Commercial) option in 'Microsoft Graph' dropdown.

Known Issues
------------

-- When we try to 'Create Meeting' thru VNC of Touch Panel, by copy and paste the text (which contains invalid characters),
in 'Meeting Subject' or 'Meeting Detail', 500 error will occur.

-- Hybrid Modern Authentication is not supported

-- Streaming Notifications feature is currently not supported with Modern Authentication.

-- Newly added Room Mailbox will take approximately 24 hours to reflect in 'Resource Profiles' tab.

-- Room Mailbox should not contain any unsupported Special Characters('/', '\', space, etc)

-- Any prerequisite Java version should not be uninstalled, if we are upgrading to v1.2.3
After upgrade, users could uninstall existing Java as v1.2.3 is using bundled JRE.

-- Exchange Configuration Application needs to be closed before uninstallation.

-- Single meetings that start more than 23 months in the future will not be
synchronized into RMS. Also, the occurrences of recurring meetings will
be limited to 23 months into the future even if the recurrence pattern
specifies "No End Date" or has a defined end date that falls beyond 23
months into the future.

-- Changing the attendees of an existing meeting doesn't actually modify the
meeting in Exchange. This is simply how Exchange behaves. As a result,
the meeting will not be resynchronized to RMS and the attendee changes won't
be reflected in RMS. Something such as the subject, body, or date/time must
be changed in order for a synchronization to RMS to occur.

-- Ending or extending a meeting from the touch panel will only update the
resource's calendar. The meeting time will not be adjusted on the
calendars for the organizer and attendees.

-- Exchange Configuration Application needs to be closed to start uninstallation process.
